WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is a series of conversations within a supportive relationship that focuses on you. I will encourage you to increase your self awareness, realise your potential, and sustain your motivation. Coaching is future focused in order to help you uncover what you want and how you can get there. I will empower you to take charge of your life and keep you on track towards achieving your goals.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In our structured sessions, I will listen carefully to you, ask questions, and use diagnostic tools to inspire you to think outside of the box, make decisions, and overcome potential barriers. We will explore what you really want and what might be holding you back, allowing you to move forward with clarity. I will rely on you to be honest, open to change, and to take action during the process.

How is coaching different?

Coaching differs from consulting, mentoring, and counselling. We are equal partners in the relationship and I believe you are the expert on your life. To make sure you get the most out of the relationship, I do not give you suggestions or advice as I believe you have all the answers you need within yourself. Coaching differs from counselling or therapy as the focus is not primarily on the past or trauma. Although we can use your previous experiences to help, we will use positive, forward-thinking techniques to bring you closer to your goals. If it turns out coaching is not right for you at this moment in time, we can discuss finding a suitable solution to support your onward journey.

What if I don’t have chronic pain?

That’s absolutely fine. I coach many people who are fit and healthy, but they are just feeling either a bit lost and stuck, or have a goal they really want to achieve. I work with people of all backgrounds and circumstances, not just those with chronic pain.

IS COACHING CONFIDENTIAL?

Absolutely. Whatever we discuss in our sessions will remain between us. Only in extreme circumstances will I disclose any information to a third party, such as if there is intent to cause harm to yourself, others, or commit criminal acts. Check out my privacy policy for more information.

How often do I need to have sessions?

You can choose what works best, but ultimately as often as you like. Typically sessions are arranged anywhere between once a week and once a month, and my packages come in sets of 6, 9, or 12 at a time. During the intake session we will discuss scheduling and ensure you are comfortable moving forward.

What will I need to do as a result of the sessions?

Whatever actions you commit to taking (from making that call you have been putting off, to completing that long to-do list) we will work at your pace and make sure coaching fits realistically into your life. Occasionally, I may give you small tasks or reflections to help you stay motivated or learn something new about yourself, but ultimately this is up to you. I would also love to hear how you are progressing between sessions, so you will be supported throughout the process.

How much does coaching cost?

We can discuss what you’re looking for during the free initial call and intake session, so there’s no obligation to pay until you start coaching sessions in earnest. Once you decide you’d like to go ahead, I will give you the password to log into my ‘existing clients’ page where you can choose from a variety of coaching packages.
